The Interdepartmental Recovery Fund (IRF) Application Process

The IRF Secretariat will issue the annual call for proposals in the fall of each year. The call will specify the format and required content of proposals.

The IRF Secretariat will screen proposals to determine their eligibility and to ensure that all required information is provided. It will furthermore ensure that the other species at risk federal funding programs are not also funding, in whole or in part, the proposed activities.

The Interdepartmental Review Committee (IRC) will assess and rank all eligible proposals and make funding recommendations to the Directors General (DG) Operations committee. The DG Operations committee will then base its decisions on project approvals on these recommendations. The IRF Secretariat will notify applicants of the decision, in writing, thereafter.

Application forms and guidelines can be obtained from the IRF Secretariat. Completed application forms as well as inquiries related to the application form should be submitted to the IRF email address.
